My client, a well-established progressive Accountancy Practice located in Newry are currently actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience.

The ideal candidate will lead and manage a team whilst overseeing a variety of accounting functions and client accounts. You must be able to develop client relationships, maintain a leadership role in relation to staff training and development whilst possessing a high level of expertise in accounting and taxation principles.

Role Summary

Position: Senior Manager

Location:  Newry

Type: Full-time

Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Flexible)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work within an appropriate timeframe.

Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong client relationships, understand the goals of the business, and provide strategic advice and solutions. Dealing with any client queries in a timely and efficient manner.

Client Work Oversight: Oversee the preparation and review of client work including the preparation of accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.

Deadline Management: Coordinate and actively manage month/period-end deadlines including tracking job progress and billing targets.

Criteria

Qualifications: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CAI/ACCA)

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an Accountancy Practice

Sector Experience: Experience working with clients across a range of sectors

Skills: Professional, technical and pro-active approach to delivering advice to clients

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Sound knowledge of income tax and corporation tax

Technical proficiency: Good knowledge and understanding of Accounting Software packages (Sage, Xero and QuickBooks) and MS Office packages with a strong proficiency in Excel. Working knowledge of taxation software (Sage) for individuals and companies.
