Credit Controller

SALARY: c£28,000 per annum

EMPLOYMENT: Permanent and full-time

Reed Accountancy is delighted to be partnered with a leading employer in Newry in the appointment of a Credit Controller to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Credit Control Manager, the successful Credit Controller will work in a fast-paced environment surrounded by a dynamic team who endeavour to maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues across their branches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee the Accounts Receivable ledger for various branches.
  • Credit Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments for both new and existing customers to ensure appropriate credit limits are set and maintained.
  • Credit Override Process: Manage the credit override request process to facilitate a seamless order-to-cash experience for customers and branches.
  • Ledger Reviews: Perform regular ledger reviews with management and branch teams.
  • Credit Account Queries: Review and resolve credit account queries daily in a timely manner.
  • Cash KPIs: Collaborate with the team and management to achieve cash Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Legal and Insurance Reviews: Gather information for potential legal actions or insurance claims.
  • Cash Management: Assist in managing cash recording and allocation processes.
  • Annual Credit Review: Conduct annual reviews of customer credit limits for assigned branches.
  • Escalation of Concerns: Report any account concerns to the Credit Team Leader.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Provide analysis and reporting as required.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the team, providing support and holiday/absence cover for other Credit Control team members as needed.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Two years’ experience in a Credit Control environment
  • Experience of dealing with customers in person and on the phone
  • Experience of checking credit references for insurance and managing credit limits set on accounts
  • Previous experience of working on a computerised management information system for managing customer accounts
  • Able to work on own initiative to achieve objectives
  • Good organisational ability in the management of customer accounts and daily tasks
  • Develop a positive ongoing working relationship with both new and existing customers to meet objectives
