Due to continued demand in the Education Sector across Northern Ireland we are keen to hire proficient and adaptable IT Technical Officers to advise, guide and resolve issues. As a member of the ICT Support services team, you will be expected to provide a range of high quality responsive ICT Support, delivering an excellent customer focused service via the help desk or direct engagement to students and staff throughout the College's Educational, and Business Sections.

Requirements:

  • At least 12 months relevant experience providing IT and help desk support
  • Previous experience within an Education or IT setting would be highly advantageous
  • Strong communicator both written and verbal
  • Effective organisational & time management skills
  • Strong computer maintenance skills
  • Experience in identifying possible causes of breakdown of systems and/or hardware
  • 4 GCSE`s including Maths and English
  • Experience in testing both existing and new tools, processes and associated software to help improve the service offered by IT Support
  • For some roles enhanced vetting will be applicable

Responsibilities:

  • Support and Monitor all allocated ICT Systems and Services College wide
  • Perform Help desk duties and respond to calls via the College's Help desk
  • Assist in the induction and training of new ICT staff and work-placement students
  • Provide technical support hardware/software to all departments, staff and students
  • Maintenance of hardware, cables, end Points along with peripherals
  • Requisitioning, checking deliveries and invoicing of consumables
  • Ensure consistent standards and security are maintained
  • Provide a customer focused approach
  • Attend and participate in team meetings when necessary
  • Assist in the research, development and testing of both existing and new tools, processes and associated software
  • Ensure accurate data and records at all times.
