Senior Quantity Surveyor (BT34 Northern Ireland)

Salary: £50k 65k plus package

Based: 1 / 2 days from home, 3 in office

Calling all talented Senior Quantity Surveyors ready to make the next step in their career at a well renowned civil engineering company, we have the role for you!

Since their formation almost 20 years ago, my client have forged an excellent reputation working with some of the biggest construction companies globally. They have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned, talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to come in manage the commercial and contractual aspects - primarily on data centre projects across the UK and Ireland with potential to progress into a Commercial Manager position over time. The role is based in Rostrevor, Newry Northern Ireland. In terms of the day-to-day responsibilities, they would include, but not be limited to the following

  • Coordinate with customers and project managers.
  • Identify and secure suitable tender packages for the business, presenting them to management.
  • Oversee commercial and contractual relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and agree on costs for scope changes.
  • Verify project costs and address any discrepancies.
  • Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with construction professionals, and ensure timely execution of tasks.
  • Maintain up-to-date procurement schedules, issue tenders, assess quotations, and recommend subcontractors for approval. Conduct site visits to measure completed work, process subcontractor payments, and regularly update management on project performance.

Experience / knowledge required:

  • Holds a degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • Motivated team player with proven experience in similar roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Willing to learn Eque-2 Estimating Software or similar.
  • Clean driving license and ability to travel.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in similar role.
