Management Accountant - Newton Abbot / Hybrid - Neg DOE

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively re-engaged by a past client, a recognised local employer and highly successful e-commerce business trading internationally. The company seeks to recruit a Management Accountant to join their friendly and experienced finance team. This is a full time, permanent position to be predominantly based from the company’s headquarters in Newton Abbot, but with potential to work remotely one day per week.

Reporting to and working closely with the company’s Head of Finance (also introduced by Trial Balance), the successful candidate will enjoy a varied role whilst also supervising a small team of management reporting and transactional finance focussed staff. This will be a broader role than typical, almost blurring the lines of Finance Manager. Key responsibilities to include:

- Manage, mentor and develop a small team of colleagues

- Assume a lead role in managing the day-to-day operational finance function of the business

- Aided by a team of experienced colleagues, prepare high quality management accounts with commentary

- Produce monthly reporting packs and financial analysis

- Working collaboratively with the Head of Finance, assume a key role in developing system and process improvements

- Cost control

- Month end journal entries and reconciliations

- Preparation cash flow forecasts

- Assist in year end and audit processes

For this role we seek an experienced candidate, ideally part/fully professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), although our client is very happy to also consider those with appropriate vocational experience and/or AAT. Previous experience gained within a manufacturing and/or stock holding business, or with exposure to physical inventory’s would be advantageous though not essential. The company is highly technology focussed so a sound understanding of digital accounting platforms and strong MS Excel skills will be essential. This is a visible role within the business, managing a small team and regularly liaising with colleagues outside of finance so excellent leadership and relationship building skills will be essential.

This employer has an exceptional reputation for staff retention and general development and this marks a rare opportunity to join a successful, caring and energetic business. For further details and to apply in confidence, please contact Elle Benjamin quoting reference EB10087 ASAP.
