Manufacturing - CNC Operator / Setter / Programmer

Newton Abbot - Heathfield

Salary - £30,000 per annum or Depdendent on Experience

Monday - Thursday - 07.00 am - 16.00 pm

Friday - 07:00 am - 12:00 pm

Our client, located in Heathfield are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist the company provide bespoke waveguide products for Medical, Defence and Telecommunications industries.

The position is for a CNC Operator / Setter and requires a team player who is prepared to be flexible and work within a small company environment.

The Ideal candidate will have previous experience as a CNC Operator / Setter and happy working in a production environment with the ability to multitask.

As a CNC Machinist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Proving out new programs and Setting and Operating CNC Lathe machinery for both large and small batch work.
  • Must have knowledge of working with various materials.
  • Ideally experience on a 2 axis CNC lathes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all departments and functions
  • This job may entail working on more than one machine within the machine shop
  • Machine cleaning and maintenance.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, adherence to quality procedures and experience using metrology equipment.
  • Record all work accurately within the database
  • Clock on and off each job that you work on
  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Self-inspection of finished product using measuring equipment
  • Reporting any production issues to the shift Line Leader in the first instance
  • To look for and implement opportunities for continuous improvement of processes to reduce cost and improve efficiency
  • Any other duties as reasonably required including following all Health & Safety policies

To be successful in this role you must have Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to demonstrate and practice common sense. Showing initiative and forward thinking.

Be hungry to learn, continually develop and take on more responsibility with a problem-solving approach to technical issues. Hard working and willing to put the time in where needed.
