CNC Operators Wanted!

Mego is partnering with a company in the historic market town of Newton Abbot to hire a CNC operator. Our client offers a comprehensive outsourced service covering various elements of manufacturing, including design, servicing, machining, and reverse engineering.

Due to growth and a consistently expanding order book, we are looking for operators who can work autonomously, want to be treated with respect, and have a proactive mindset. You will have access to continuous professional development and enjoy a four-day working week!

About You:

  • Essential Experience: Proficient with Siemens controls and/or Mazatrol.
  • CNC Machinery: Experience with 5-axis CNC machinery is required. Some training will be provided, but programming skills are essential.
  • Engineering Drawings: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, with the ability to work with metric drawings and equipment.
  • Qualifications: NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or similar qualifications in Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting Finished Products: Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet all quality and design specifications, using measuring tools and techniques to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Creating Custom Parts: Produce custom parts tailored to specific customer requests or detailed design specifications. This involves programming the CNC machines for unique or complex parts and making necessary adjustments to meet precise requirements.
  • Maintaining Machinery and Equipment: Perform regular maintenance and upkeep of CNC machines and related equipment to ensure efficient and effective operation. This includes troubleshooting issues, making necessary repairs, and scheduling routine maintenance.
