About the Role:

TQR Plymouth is excited to present a unique opportunity for a seasoned Design Engineer to join a dynamic team. This role involves designing custom marine components, transforming specifications into detailed, manufacturable designs. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in engineering solutions and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop marine shaft line components and propellers.
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.
  • Determine requirements in collaboration with customers.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing teams.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD essential, Solidworks desirable).
  • Experience in solving technical design challenges.
  • Ability to handle projects of varying sizes, timelines, and complexities.
  • Experience in designing components and assemblies (marine industry experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of design for manufacture and production environments.
  • Familiarity with design codes and classification rules.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent mathematical and numerical skills.
  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
