Overview:

My client is a reputable accountancy practice who are looking to hire an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join their friendly team in Newton Abbot.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in payroll processing within accountancy and/or a bureau environment, but my client will consider candidates with inhouse experience as well.

This role is essential for ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations to 400 + clients. As well as processing, you will be responsible for responding to queries, advising clients on technical issues as well as supporting with pension queries and other related payroll service deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing of numerous payrolls, BACS processing, HMRC submissions under RTI, Pension processing and auto-enrolments knowledge
  • Liaising with clients and HMRC
  • Dealing with complex payroll queries and acting as a second line support for our payroll administrators
  • Setting up and administrating Auto Enrolment for clients.
  • Assist the team to make improvements and implement required changes
  • Reporting and carrying out year-end procedures
  • Assisting the manager in supporting junior members of staff
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation associated with your work
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance
  • Immediately report problems that may impact on the organisation or our clients

Skills and Experience:

  • 3 to 4 Years Payroll Experience (bureau or inhouse considered)
  • Experience gained in an accountancy practice or bureau environment and have developed your career within these environments
  • Experience running multiple pay runs and have knowledge of different types of pay - weekly, monthly, commission and bonuses, as well as ad hoc changes.
