Quality Control Technician -Fabrication workshop – Heathfield Industrial Estate,

Starts immediately 

Full time position - Day Shift 07:00-15:30  

Salary: dependent upon experience 

Quality Inspector Resposibilities 

  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping 

  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations 

  • Inspect steel fabrication work on shop floor and sign off as correct for weld specification, orientation, quality and dimensional checks

  • Read engineering drawings and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services 

  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications 

  • Liaise with production manager and workshop staff for timely completion 

  • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control 

  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records 

  • Recording of goods in and goods out

  • Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner 

  • Collate completed engineering drawings from Workshop for database input 

Quality Inspector Requirements

  • Steelwork and fabrication knowledge essential 

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office 

  • Good maths and technical skills 

  • Good communicator 

  • Good organisational and reporting skills 

  • Attention to detail
