Education Support Worker - Secondary SEN Provision

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people with complex trauma and behavioural needs? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Education Support Worker to join the team at a secondary SEN provision near Newton Abbot?.

As an Education Support Worker, your role will primarily involve providing mentoring and emotional support to secondary age pupils within the unit, assisting them with their work and helping them overcome emotional and behavioural challenges. You will play a vital role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide mentoring and emotional support to secondary age pupils with complex trauma and behavioural needs.

- Assist students with their schoolwork and help them develop essential skills.

- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and resilience.

- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement individualised support plans.

- Encourage positive behaviour and promote social and emotional development.

- Maintain accurate records of student progress and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.

- Occasional travel to accompany student to offsite meetings or appointments.

Requirements:

- Previous experience working in a challenging environment with young people with SEN needs is essential.

- Demonstrated empathy and commitment to supporting young people with special educational needs.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.

- Full driving license, car and business insurance.

- Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.45 am to 4.45 pm.

Contract Type: This is a temporary-to-permanent position or a permanent position depending on your preference.

Salary: £98 to £120 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications.
