- Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment that promotes emotional and academic growth.
- Use therapeutic techniques to help students manage their emotions and behaviors.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to trauma and special education.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children with special needs, particularly those who have experienced trauma.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant qualifications in special education or a related field are preferred.
