GSL Education is seeking a passionate and energetic Primary Sports Coach to support physical education and sports activities in primary schools across Newton Abbot. This role is perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic about sports, fitness, and child development, helping students develop confidence, teamwork, and a love for physical activity.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons and sports activities for primary-aged children.
- Encourage teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness through structured sessions.
- Work alongside teachers to promote health and wellbeing in schools.
- Provide 1:1 and small group coaching to enhance students’ skills and confidence.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive sporting environment for all students.
- Organise and lead school sports events, tournaments, and extracurricular clubs.
- Support children with SEND and additional needs in participating in sports activities.
- Experience working with children in a sports or coaching capacity.
- A sports coaching qualification (Level 2 or higher) is desirable.
- A strong understanding of PE curriculum and child development.
- Excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage children of all abilities.
- A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
- A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
