Our client, an international group providing complex engineering solutions to some of the key names in the Aerospace and Defence market. This position is an initial 6 month contract,The RoleTo support production by ensuring routine machine maintenance, general cleanliness and tidiness of cell is maintained.Key Responsibilities
  • Coolant Management: check and maintain coolant concentrations, carry out fungal and bacterial tests, check and maintain oil levels and other additives, maintain computerised records of all and ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles using a range of lifting equipment
  • Moving equipment and fixtures as necessary in accordance with all applicable legislation and industry best practice.
  • Separation, movement and storage of factory waste (including hazardous waste) for collection by specialist waste disposal firms and completion of relevant records.
  • Cleaning, greasing, lubricating, swarfing and maintaining all machines – including the disconnection / reconnection of simple services, and utilisation of other methods as required for specialist equipment such as coolant magnets, etc.
  • Recycling of all factory materials including metals, wood, cardboard, coolants and oils in accordance with the Company’s Environmental Management System and other applicable statutory legislation.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with general duties.
  • Cleaning tanks & associated equipment in Surface preparation & Paint shops. Handling and the safe storage and disposal of acids and alkalis after training.
  • Other duties as required compatible with this job and the employee’s individual skills at the direction of the supervisor/manager.

  • NVQ2 WAMITAB (Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board) (Preferred)
  • Forklift Truck Operators License (Preferred)
  • Safe Jacking / Transplant of Plant & Machines (Preferred)
  • Asbestos Awareness (Preferred)
  • Fire Safety & Use of Extinguishers (Preferred)
  • Scissor Lift Operator (Preferred)
  • Coolant Management (Preferred)
  • Legionella Awareness (Preferred)
  • Understanding the control and handling of potential pollutants
  • Waste Transfer Notes
  • Use of Counterbalance Forklift Truck and Reach Truck, Pedi Fork & Side Loader
This will be shift rotation work;
  • 7:30am till 4:00pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30am till 12:30pm Friday (for 4 weeks) 
  • 12:30pm till 9:00pm Monday to Thursday, 12:30pm - 5:30pm Friday (for 4 weeks) 
  • 9:00pm - 7:00am Monday to Wednesday, 9:00pm – 6:00am Thursday (for 4 weeks)
