Senior Business Intelligence Developer – The Role:

You will support the development and implementation of College quality improvement planning through the provision of robust and accurate management information on student data, funding and other key performance indicators while leading the production of accurate, timely and accessible data reports & dashboards for Governors and college management.

Senior Business Intelligence Developer – Key Responsibilities:

- Produce high-quality statistical and analytical reports using relational databases, spreadsheets, and other tools

- Design and develop data queries to import, interrogate, and extract data from college systems, funding agency software, and other sources

- Design, update, and publish Power BI dashboards and Microsoft Reporting Services reports, ensuring accessibility for staff to query college databases

- Collaborate with BI developers to develop and optimise databases, tables, views, and stored procedures, as well as administer the Data Warehouse

- Gather business intelligence requirements from internal and external stakeholders, provide technical support, and ensure adherence to best practices

- Work with the MIS team to automate manual processes and maintain efficient, reliable reporting systems

- Assist the exams team during the summer exam series with preparation, invigilation, and additional tasks as needed

Senior Business Intelligence Developer – You:

- Minimum Level 2 in English and Math; Level 3 in a relevant field or equivalent experience in high-level data reporting & dashboard creation

- Extensive experience with Entity Relational Diagrams and integrating data across complex databases

- Proficient in producing and presenting data reports and dashboards for senior leadership and external stakeholders

- Strong skills in querying relational databases, data warehouse design, and optimising data structures for BI

- Advanced IT skills: T-SQL, SQL Server BI Stack, MS Office, and related software

- Expertise in SQL tools, SQL Server Reporting Services, and complex SQL coding (functions, stored procedures, T-SQL scripts)

- Experience in setting up and maintaining SSIS packages

- Proficient in Visual Studio and Source Control tools
