Technician

RMS Recruitment is seeking a Technician to join our client's leading manufacturing team based in Newton Aycliffe. Our client has a dynamic team that drives excellence in outdoor power tools and shapes the future of the industry. This is the perfect role for someone with experience in Automower Services and repairs.

Job Details:

• Type: Permanent Position
• Shift: Monday – Friday Day Shift
• Salary: £30-35k per annum

About the Role:

Working as a Technician, you would be responsible for the repair of various types of garden and forest equipment. Which would include troubleshooting issues, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintenance of a range of products and associated equipment.
• Offering telephone advice to our service dealer network and keeping relevant computer records.
• Support with installations, general technical enquiries including full range of machinery.
• Supporting the workshop supervisor and the After Sales Team in all aspects of After Sales support for the UK.
• Providing technical support on the Help Desk for dealers.
• Evaluating and repairing machines returned to the workshop and feeding back any findings.
• Reworking bonded products when required.
• Develop technical support information for product training.
• Communicate to the Sales Teams or categories regarding any technical issues and status.
• Installations and technical support.  

About You:

• The candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in the industry and be fully competent in the repair/servicing of small electrical equipment
• Being able to clearly explain technical issues to clients & being able to write comprehensive reports
• Preferably, you will be qualified to “GCSE” / A level or above in Math's / Physics or other Engineering discipline (Other suitable background or qualifications could be considered)
• You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, good grammar and be PC literate.
• A clean, current driving licence and passport is required, as some travel may be required.
