Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Permanent Planning Assistant for a highly reputable client located in Newton Aycliffe. Responsible for enhancing the company's position by assisting the Procurement Manager in the implementation and maintaining of company targets, departmental operating procedures and standards. To identify and implement improvement in resource allocation to achieve the most efficient utilisation of production assets with budget and customer constraints.
Planning Assistant Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for short term planning, ensuring customer expectations, production efficiencies and budgets are achieved.
- Communicate with internal and external customers and suppliers at an appropriate level to ensure that achievable deadlines are set, resourced and reported.
- Maintain reporting protocols and systems that identify potential issues with deadlines or budgets in a timely manner to appropriate stakeholders.
- Liaise with other operational functions on a day-to-day basis to create a stable and cost-effective platform to achieve the production plan.
- Support the training and development of staff in existing and future standards and techniques to achieve performance targets set by senior management.
- Provide coaching and guidance to operators across all departments regarding how they impact on achieving stable and cost effective long and short-term resource plans.
- Ability to create and manage the MRP system and implement solutions to scenarios identified by the gathered data.
- Data collation and analysis on completion of first production run. Revisiting and amending job routes, times, & set up sheets etc.
- Carry out Product amendments/changes and ensure all the relevant documentation is amended and reported to the relevant people.
- Implement a continuous improvement approach to cost saving and existing procedures, by supporting managers and operators across all departments.
- Effectively manage departmental and company resources to implement the company's policies and standards.
Planning Assistant Applicants:
- Manufacturing Industry experience.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Good interpersonal skills, particularly verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong IT skills.
Salary up to £30,000 DOE, working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
