Reed Further Education are supporting a leading training provider in Newton Aycliffe who need a short course tutor on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in guiding and training learners through their short courses, delivering qualifications in areas such as Mental Health Awareness, Warehousing, Hospitality, Customer Service, and Lean Organisation Management Techniques. Additionally, you will teach Industrial Environmental Awareness, Team Leading, and Personal and Social Development up to Level 2 and above.
Job Title: Business Short Course Tutor
Location: Newton Aycliffe, HO plus Middlesbrough, Gateshead, and Newcastle Hubs, with travel throughout the Northeast as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effective Delivery: Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment across various learning environments, including classrooms, workplaces, and community settings. Utilize diverse teaching methodologies to meet learners' needs.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to tailor and enhance the curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational objectives.
- KPI Achievement: Consistently achieve or surpass targets related to learner progression, retention, achievement, satisfaction, and compliance.
- Learner Support: Provide individualized advice, guidance, and support to apprentices, helping them achieve their goals.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and performance, ensuring compliance with ESFA regulatory requirements.
- Constructive Feedback: Offer consistent, constructive feedback to support learner development.
- Equality and Diversity: Promote an inclusive learning environment.
- Safeguarding: Manage the safeguarding and welfare of learners, reporting incidents as per protocols.
Qualifications, Competence & Behaviours:
- Relevant occupational experience and practical skills in the sector.
- Vocational qualifications and/or competency in areas such as employability, lean manufacturing, mental health awareness, hospitality, cleaning, etc.
- Teaching qualifications (e.g., PTLLS, PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards them.
- Assessing qualifications (e.g., CAVA) or willingness to work towards them.
- Level 2 Functional Skills (English, maths, and ICT) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience in training and/or assessing in educational or workplace environments.
- Understanding of ESFA funding rules and compliance guidelines.
