Job Description:

The Chemical Process Engineer will lead and promote a culture of safety within chemical and process plant operations. The role involves advising and mentoring teams to ensure legislative and operational safety requirements are met. Responsibilities include inspecting facilities, ensuring compliance, and managing risks associated with chemical plant operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting HAZOP/CHAZOP studies and creating safety matrices.
  • Managing chemical handling, storage, and waste streams.
  • Overseeing compliance with environmental and safety standards (ISO14001, ISO45001).
  • Developing and implementing process safety systems and emergency protocols.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
  • Mentoring and training staff to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.


Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • 3+ years of experience in chemical engineering or similar roles.
  • Expertise in handling hazardous chemicals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with process safety systems, HAZOP/CHAZOP assessments, and plant design.
  • Proactive, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
