We are looking to recruit on behalf of our client, a Graduate Operations Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, ideally from a business or engineering discipline.

Key Responsibilities

Distribution & Logistics:

  • Supervise end-to-end distribution processes, including order processing, dispatch, and logistics.
  • Work closely with the Logistics Co-Ordinator to understand, improve, and support daily logistics operations, ensuring adherence to best practices and optimising resource use.
  • Assist the Logistics Co-Ordinator in coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to guarantee efficient, on-time deliveries.
  • Contribute to route and process optimisation strategies, identifying opportunities to minimise costs and improve delivery timelines alongside the Logistics Coordinator.

Warehouse Management:

  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to understand and enhance daily warehouse operations, ensuring high standards of organisation, safety, and efficiency.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in implementing stock control measures and optimising storage and handling practices, ensuring streamlined workflows and inventory accuracy.
  • Proactively contribute to process improvements by identifying areas for change, recommending enhancements, and supporting the Warehouse Manager in implementing operational changes when needed.

IT and Systems Management:

  • A good and clear understanding of IT.
  • Utilise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, ERP, and MS Office for tracking operations and generating performance reports.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot and improve system processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate a team of warehouse and distribution staff, setting clear objectives and conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Support the development of team members, promoting a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Resolve staff issues effectively and ensure a fair, respectful, and inclusive work environment.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for operational improvement, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Standardise procedures in line with company goals to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
  • Coordinate with other departments to align distribution activities with overall business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Education:Bachelors degree or equivalent.
  • Experience:Experience in distribution, logistics, or warehouse supervision.
  • IT Skills:Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite is beneficial but not required.
  • Team Skills:Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities:Strong analytical skills, with an aptitude for identifying and implementing improvements in operational processes.
  • Health and Safety Awareness:A thorough understanding of Health and Safety standards, with experience in implementing safe work practices.
