Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join their Laboratory team in Aycliffe. This is an exciting temporary role with the potential to become ongoing!

Position Details:

  • Contract Type: Temporary (6 months, possibly ongoing, could lead to a long term role
  • Pay: £15.27 per hour
  • Working Hours:

- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM- Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM- Enjoy a one-hour lunch break each day!

Key Responsibilities:You will play a crucial role in testing respiratory equipment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting flow rate tests and evaluating products, PPE, and mechanical bias.
  • Performing chemical bias tests, including testing philtres with chemicals.
  • Completing development, qualification, pre-compliance, and audit testing.
  • Supporting current and future certifications of respiratory protection products.
  • Updating documentation as needed to reflect test methods.
  • Calibrating test equipment according to schedule and assisting with safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Managing consumables for test equipment you oversee.
  • Collaborating with the R&D organisation, product engineers, developers, and compliance teams.
  • Supporting the Quality Management System to maintain certifications and accreditation's.
    • Mechanical testing of PPE equipment
    • Testing filters with various chemicals
    • Experience with mechanical testing of products - Required
    • Adherence to testing standards, specifically ISO17025 Quality standard
    • Ability to follow test standards and processes
    • Analyzing and interpreting test results

Requirements:To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Experience with mechanical testing of products - Required
  • Knowledge of respiratory protection testing requirements and awareness of EN standards.
  • Familiarity with gas and vapour testing methods, reusable respirators, and powered/supplied air products.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Teams, and Minitab.

Please note: This role is not focused on biology, medical fields, or production lines. the client requires individuals with Mechanical testing experience .

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and interpret data effectively.

Education:

    • A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution is a strong advantage but not essential (must be completed and verified prior to start).
