The Company:

Theo James are delighted to partner with BTS Fabrications in our search for a new Quality Technician to join their already successful operation. Creating a new role within the Quality Team showcases the growth plans heading into 2024 for this innovative manufacturer.

BTS Fabrications showcase precision manufacturing and supply of premium quality Facade and Rainscreen systems, including interlocking plank CWCT-tested rainscreen systems, architectural cladding, rainscreen facades, and rainscreen cladding systems, across the UK.

Job Description

  • Documentation Management: Maintain and update quality system documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and records, in compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO45001)
  • Internal Audits: Assist in planning, conducting, and reporting on internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of quality management processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Support the investigation, documentation, and resolution of non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Change Control: Manage the change control process for revisions to documents, procedures, equipment, or processes, ensuring proper review, approval, and implementation.
  • Training Coordination: Coordinate training activities related to quality systems, ensuring that employees receive appropriate training on QMS requirements, procedures, and best practices.
  • Supplier/Subcontractor Quality Management: Assist in evaluating and monitoring supplier performance, conducting supplier audits, and managing supplier corrective actions to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Compile and analyze quality data, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and report on quality system performance to management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of quality management processes.

Skills & experience

  • Experience in Problem Solving - 8D reports
  • Previous experience within Manufacturing environments
  • Experience in Control Plans and FMEAs
  • Able to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers and colleagues.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in a quality assurance role, with knowledge of quality management systems
  • Understanding of fabrication process.
  • Interoperate engineering drawings
