An industry-leading manufacturer is seeking a highly motivated and experienced International Sales & Business Development professional. The company operates globally, supplying specialist products to clients across Europe, Asia, the USA, and the Middle East. This role is ideal for an individual with strong international customer service, marketing, and sales experience—preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across international markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, design consultants, contractors, OEMs, and clients worldwide.
- Attend and exhibit at international trade shows, client visits, and trade missions (annually)
- Provide technical sales support, guiding clients from initial inquiry to final product selection.
- Manage the sales process from inquiry to quotation, ensuring accurate pricing and margin calculations in multiple currencies.
- Follow up on inquiries, pull together tenders, and generate new leads.
- Assist in marketing efforts, including contributing to news stories and promotional materials.
- Develop and maintain a long-term sales pipeline, using a consultative sales approach to understand client needs and present effective solutions.
- Ensure quotes are issued promptly, liaising with suppliers to collate necessary information.
- Maintain accurate sales records and reporting.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous international sales and business development experience, ideally in manufacturing.
- Understanding of working with overseas clients and different cultural expectations.
- Strong technical aptitude, with an ability to identify and present tailored solutions.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to recognise when to sell versus when to focus on relationship building.
- Highly process-driven, ensuring smooth sales progression from concept to completion.
- Confident decision-making and ability to take initiative.
- Experience working with tenders and pulling together comprehensive proposals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of bespoke product tendering
- Foreign language skills (beneficial but not critical).
- Strong numerical skills for working with exchange rates and multi-currency pricing.
