Our client, a highly successful logistics company based in Newton-le-Willows, is seeking an experienced Payroller to join their dynamic team. With a strong reputation in the logistics sector, the company is growing rapidly, and they need an experienced payroll professional to ensure the smooth processing of payroll for over 400 employees.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Process full end-to-end payroll for over 400 employees on a monthly basis.
- Ensure all payroll is processed accurately and on time, including adjustments, bonuses, and overtime.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including starters, leavers, and amendments.
- Manage payroll-related queries from employees and resolve any issues promptly.
- Process pension contributions and deductions, ensuring compliance with auto-enrollment.
- Liaise with HMRC to ensure correct tax and National Insurance deductions.
- Prepare and submit statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP, etc.).
- Ensure accurate processing of expenses and benefits in kind.
- Administer salary reviews and support with bonus and incentive schemes.
- Maintain compliance with UK payroll legislation, including tax, pensions, and national minimum wage.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual payroll reports.
- Support internal and external audits as required.
Profile
Key Requirements:
- Experience in end-to-end payroll processing (ideally for a company of 100+ employees).
- Experience using Sage 50 Payroll or a similar payroll system.
- Solid understanding of payroll legislation, including PAYE, tax, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory payments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to handle payroll queries.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team but also independently when required.
