Role: Commercial Gas Engineer
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Van (Personal Use) + Benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
Location: Site-based near Preston (occasional off-site work)
Call-Out Rota: 1 week in every 8/9 weeks
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our clients team, working for a leading FM company on a secure site near Preston. Due to the nature of the site, security clearance checks will be required. This is a site-based role carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, with occasional off-site cover for emergency roles as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled maintenance and complete all necessary paperwork and reports.
- Reactive Maintenance: Attend to emergency and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Off-Site Cover: From time to time, you may be required to work off-site to cover emergency roles.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed on time, with accurate certification and clear identification of any remedial works.
- Basic Fabric & Electrical Tasks: Undertake minor repairs and maintenance of building fabric and basic electrical tasks as required.
- Team Support: Assist colleagues, supervisors, and contract managers as needed, including participating in the call-out rota.
- Quoting & Additional Works: Identify and source opportunities for additional work on-site, providing necessary details for quotations.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Qualifications: Commercial Gas
- Proven experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding on a variety of equipment, including:

- Ventilation systems
- Pumps and generators
- Switchgear and cables
- Batteries, small power, and lighting (where applicable)

- Health & Safety: Strong knowledge of safe working practices and H&S compliance.
- Technology: Ability to effectively use handheld technology for job management.
- Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence is essential.
