Plant Auto Electrician - Permanent - Monday to Friday - Site based only (no travel) - salary upwards of 46,800pa

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced Plant Auto Electrician based in Cambuslang, Central Scotland.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Up to 46,800 per annum
  • 29 days holiday (including bank holidays).
  • Monday to Friday schedule, with optional overtime on Saturdays.
  • Specialist training provided by senior plant engineers.
  • This role is site-based and not mobile.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in road, rail, and civil plant equipment using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, batteries, lighting, and electronic safety systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Implement system upgrades, modifications, and new equipment installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, providing updates and advice on repairs. Ensure all tasks comply with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Auto Electrician, ideally with HGVs or heavy vehicles.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Auto Electrical or Vehicle Electrics).
  • Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant and HGV electrical systems, including CAN bus systems and ECUs.

This role requires a dedicated and self-motivated individual capable of maintaining and repairing various plant equipment efficiently and effectively.
