Organisation Design and Change Specialist

In joining the Organisation Design and Change (OD&C) team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the professional services framework. This position is ideal for someone passionate about fostering the right culture, behaviours, skills, and engagement within the organisation and you will lead the design and implementation of career pathways for non-academic staff, ensuring they understand their development opportunities and potential career steps in a coordinated manner.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the design and delivery of a career pathways framework for professional services staff, building on existing approaches for academic staff as appropriate
  • Provide specialist expertise in career pathways and development to lead the specification, build, and initial implementation of career pathways
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders within the People & Culture directorate and across the organisation to define the scope of career pathways work and its integration with ongoing performance and career development support
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data on historic and existing career pathways to understand the current landscape and develop future frameworks
  • Design and implement governance mechanisms to ensure the career pathways design and development meet the needs of the organisation and its staff
  • Identify and adopt leading practices and innovations in career pathways that are suitable for the organisation
  • Contribute significantly to the growth of the Organisation Design and Change function
  • Work closely with colleagues in the People and Culture Directorate to support the delivery of the wider operational plan related to career pathways and development

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A Degree or other relevant professional qualification
  • Eligibility for Chartered Membership of CIPD (MCIPD) or other relevant external professional body, through examination and experience
  • Proven experience in leading organisational design and change initiatives, particularly in designing and implementing career development frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with various internal teams
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a proven track record of using data to inform decisions
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
