Recruitment Pro are working on behalf of our client in automotive distribution known for its commitment to excellent customer service! With our clientcontinuing to expand, they are looking for a detail-orientedPurchasing Assistantto work closely with their Purchasing Manager and contribute to a seamless and efficient procurement process working 8:30am until 5:30pm Monday to Friday.

In this role, you will play an essential part in supporting the Purchasing Manager by managing data, working across multiple computer systems, and coordinating communications with both internal teams and external partners. Your ability to ensure smooth information flow across departments will be key. Success in this role will require a combination of strong organization, communication, and multitasking skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate various computer systems to perform tasks such as data entry and data management.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Handle and organise complex data with precision and attention to detail.
  • Maintain accurate records for purchases, pricing, and inventory, ensuring information is accessible and up-to-date.
  • Prepare purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and ensure timely receipt of goods.
  • Provide general administrative support to the purchasing department.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the Purchasing Manager.

Key Competencies:

  • Proven administrative experience, ideally within a high-paced office environment.
  • Background in procurement or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to develop positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communication skills and experience in stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Positive attitude and readiness to take on new challenges as they arise.
