Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to oversee the dispatch operations. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of dispatch, ensuring that products are delivered on time, in full, and in compliance with quality standards. The role will involve leading a team of dispatch operatives and working closely with the production and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day dispatch operations, ensuring products are correctly packed and dispatched to meet customer demand.
- Oversee a team of dispatch operatives, providing leadership and support to ensure productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of all orders, adhering to customer specifications and deadlines.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure inventory levels are accurate and products are available for dispatch as required.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in the dispatch area.
- Monitor and improve performance metrics, such as dispatch efficiency and accuracy.
- Organise and plan the daily dispatch schedule to maximise operational effectiveness.
- Handle any customer service issues related to dispatch, including delivery queries and complaints.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to optimise transportation routes and ensure cost-effective delivery solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and company policies.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in dispatch or logistics management, ideally within the food or manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards within a warehouse or dispatch environment.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and MS Office.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
