Night Shift Service Engineer

Normanton

4 on 4 off night shifts (7 pm - 7 am, 12 hours, 11 hours paid with 1-hour unpaid break)

As a Night Shift Service Engineer, you will be required to

  • Support the Service Department in the repair and maintenance of hire fleet and customer equipment, ensuring high quality of service and customer satisfaction.
  • Carry out planned service and maintenance work on hire fleet and customer equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in hire fleet and customer equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for hire, install and disconnect equipment on-site (synchronising where appropriate).
  • Install and commission power to temporary site accommodation (wiring in where appropriate).
  • Load and unload vehicles.
  • Participate in the call-out rota system and ensure tidy work areas.
  • Complete and submit all company paperwork as per procedure, safeguarding company assets and maintaining correct paperwork.
  • Keep company or loan vehicles clean, serviced, and report defects promptly.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperation across the Generator Power Group of Companies.
  • Treat all employees and customers professionally and with respect.
  • Act in the best interests of the Generator Power Group of Companies, avoiding actions that may bring the company into disrepute.
  • Contribute proactively to the company’s continuous improvement policy.
  • Follow Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental guidelines (ISO 9001:14001 and OHSAS 18001).
  • Carry out any reasonable ad-hoc duties as requested by your line manager or the management team.

Qualifications Required:

  • GCSE or equivalent
  • Forklift Truck Licence (desired, but full training provided)
  • Apprenticeship in Engineering
  • C&G qualifications
  • Electrical skills/qualifications (advantageous)

Experience Required:

  • Experience with generators, plant equipment, or heavy engineering (or similar)
