Major Repair Engineer

Normanton

Up To £30,000

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Service Department in the repair and maintenance of the generator hire fleet and customers' equipment.
  2. Ensure a high quality of service and equipment to achieve complete customer satisfaction.

As a Major Repair Engineer, you will be required to

  • Conduct major repairs on hire fleet generators and ancillaries.
  • Perform planned service and maintenance work on both hire fleet generators and customers' equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and rectify issues with hire fleet generators and customers' equipment, including major engine and component strip down and rebuild.
  • Have experience with PERKINS, CUMMINS, DEUTZ, KUBOTA, YANMAR, and VOLVO engines.
  • Strip diesel engines and identify major faults on the fleet.
  • Work at or from other depot locations as workload requires.
  • Maintain tidy work areas through general housekeeping.
  • Complete and submit all company paperwork as per procedure.
  • Ensure cleanliness and serviceability of company vehicles or any occasional loan vehicles.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperation across the Generator Power Group of Companies.
  • Treat all employees and customers with professionalism and respect.
  • Act in the best interests of the Generator Power Group of Companies.
  • Follow safe working practices and adhere to Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental guidelines (ISO 9001:14001 and OHSAS 18001).
  • Contribute proactively to the company’s policy of continuous improvement.
  • Carry out any reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by your direct Line Manager or the Management Team.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • GCSE High School or equivalent
  • Any Plant/Mechanical Engineering qualifications
  • Forklift Truck Licence (desired but full training can be provided)

Experience Required:

  • Experience with generators/plant equipment/heavy engineering (or similar)
  • Experience of engine rebuilds
