The Role:As a Product Development Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, developing, and delivering a diverse range of products that align with customer needs and business objectives. You will work closely with the product development and merchandising teams to identify market trends, select product ranges, and manage supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the product development and merchandising teams to identify product trends and opportunities
  • Sourcing new products and negotiating with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms
  • Assisting with the development of new product lines and ranges, from concept to launch
  • Monitoring product performance and working to optimise product offerings
  • Managing relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure smooth product delivery
  • Keeping up-to-date with market trends and competitor activity to inform product strategy
  • Maintaining an effective supply chain and ensuring timely product availability

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Product Development Buyer or in a similar buying or merchandising role within retail
  • Strong understanding of product development processes, from sourcing to final product delivery
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers
  • A keen eye for market trends, customer needs, and product performance
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within teams
