About the School: Our SEMH school caters to children aged 11-19, offering them a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. You will join the dedicated group of teachers and support staff and will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of these students. Every child has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), ensuring personalized support.
Working Hours: 8.30-15.30 term time only
Competitive pay: 86-96 per day
Start date: After February half term
Your Role: As a teaching assistant, you'll work closely with a teacher and another teaching assistant in a very small size class with children who might be of different age but similar educational and development level. Your role is instrumental in providing individualized support, managing spontaneous, compulsive, and challenging behaviour, and facilitating learning activities.
Requirements:
* Ideally, you hold a Level 2 teaching assistant qualification.
* Previous experience working in UK schools is highly desirable.
* Previous experience working with vulnerable young adults is preferred.
* Previous experience working with mental health agencies, supporting homeless, out of foster care or NEET young adults is welcomed.
* Familiarity with the UK curriculum is advantageous.
* Must have resided in the UK for at least 5 years.
* Immediate availability for interviews and start date.
* It is imperative that you drive as the school can't be reached by public transport.
Placement Details: This is a 12-week placement through our agency, with the opportunity for a full-time position with the school afterward. Additionally, the school will provide additional training to support your professional development and growth.
