We have a FANTASTIC opportunity to work for a top engineering business in Lincoln (LN6) as a Sub Contracting Team Member - Maternity Cover.

 

The role pays £22,687 – £23,555 DOE

 

Day Shift

Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 16:00pm

Friday 7:30am to 12:30pm

 

 

Description of Position

  • Part of a small team with a shared responsibility for a combined annual spend of >£21’000’000
  • Raising and expediting orders, (and associated activities).
  • Communicating information within the Supply Chain Team and the Operations arena generally, and with Supply Chain generally, to ensure performance meets business metrics
  • Ensuring Business requirements relating to Quality, Cost and Delivery of processed products are achieved
  • Ensuring documentation is accurate

Main Responsibilities and Activities

  • Responsibility for all aspects of workflow related to sub-contract operations
  • Expedite activities / items at various approved vendors to meet the manufacturing requirement as defined by the Supply Chain / Procurement Manager
  • Raise documentation packs for sub-contract operations, liaising with the Laboratory  where required
  • Ensure logistical operations prior to despatch, and on return from the vendor are carried out in an effective and efficient manner that minimise lead time between internal production operations
  • Ensure parts / material / documentation / serial numbers are checked both on shipment and receipt
  • Pack the components to ensure that transportation from the Lincoln site to the vendor
  • Unpack processed components from vendors, liaising with the vendor, quality and engineering in a timely manner
  • Support the Shipping Team by packing components , and arranging shipping for external couriers
  • Support the Production Store Team by issuing components out for sub contract processes
  • Support management in arranging transportation of parts / material, (both delivery from NMB and collection to NMB), by NMB transport or from outside carriers
  • Liaise with sub-contractors on a regular basis to ensure performance is in line with NMB expectations
  • Ensure that on completion of the sub-contract process, parts handed back to NMB Production are ‘fit for use’ and meet all standards relevant to work storage / documentation packages etc
  • Maintain the upkeep of accurate information in relation to:
    • Sub-Contracted operations
    • Vendor performance
  • Communicate information to relevant parties, (both internal and external)
  • Work within budgetary requirements
  • Proactively identify, communicate and implement corrective action plans when schedule goes ‘off-target’
  • There is an expectation that you will be flexible within the department. Part of the role will involve ‘hands-on’ activities required to move product to/from the supply chain

  • Good Communication and inter-personal skills are essential for this role

  • Work within the framework of NMB Supply Chain Policies and Procedures, whilst at the same time, endeavour to highlight new ways of doing things that benefit the department and learn from past experiences
  • Flexible attitude is essential. Part of the role will include physical elements, (such as moving work around the work area and packing / unpacking orders)
  • May be required to work extended hours to help and support the requirements of the Supply Chain Team
  • Must have a pro-active approach to the requirements dictated within this environment
  • Naturally well organised individual with good administration skills
  • Must be able to work as part of a team, working within a high pressure environment
  • Strong problem solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, competing demands and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a positive manner
