Central Employment are proudly representing an leading engineering firm, based in North Tyneside, by recruiting a permanent Mobile Mechanical Fitter, to join their organisation, due to company growth.If you are an experienced Mechanical Fitter and looking for your next career move, apply NOW for an immediate response!A growing organization is seeking an experienced and qualified Mobile Mechanical Fitter to join its expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and repairing a wide range of plant equipment and vehicles, ensuring operational efficiency and quick turnaround times. This role requires a solid understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and a proactive approach to solving problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and repair various plant machinery and vehicles across different sites.
  • Perform Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) on equipment such as Forklift Trucks (FLTs), Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), and tower lights, as well as other heavy equipment.
  • Respond promptly to the demands and needs of customers, ensuring fast and accurate repairs.
  • Diagnose and resolve hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team or independently as needed.
  • Provide on-call service as part of a rota, including servicing a key customer in the North East.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing plant equipment and vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with FLTs, MEWPs, and tower lights is essential.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining workplace health and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MEWP, IPAF Card, Harness training, and FLT license (desirable).
  • ECITB/CCNSG Passport to Safety (preferred, but training can be provided).

Benefits:

  • Company van (for personal use), fuel card, iPad, and mobile phone provided.
  • Overtime available, with earnings potential up to £55,000 (paid at time and a half for over 41.5 hours, double time on Sundays/Bank Holidays).
  • Monthly team bonus of £200-£350 if company targets are met.
  • Additional holiday entitlement for each year of service.
  • Basic hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:00am – 5:00pm; Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime available
  • Weekend availability
