As a Finance Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting my clients financial operations, contributing to a community that fosters hope, belonging, and thriving opportunities for all.
Day-to-day of the role:- Process and accurately post invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Handle bank transactions, reconcile bank statements, and monitor cash flow.
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations and support the reconciliation of key control accounts and inter-company accounts.
- Manage and track restricted and unrestricted funds and donations.
- Record housing benefit, rent, and service charge receipts.
- Provide data analysis support for the Housing division.
- Assist with general finance administration and support Finance Managers with their finance needs.
- Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Assist with finance reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Support statutory audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
- Assist the HR team and outsourced payroll provider with the preparation of monthly payroll.
- Undertake other tasks and duties as required.
- Previous experience in a finance or financial admin role.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Experience in the charity or housing sector is desirable.
- Proficiency in Xero, Google Suite, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Recognised accounting qualification such as AAT or equivalent is desirable.
