Finance Assistant

As a Finance Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting my clients financial operations, contributing to a community that fosters hope, belonging, and thriving opportunities for all.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Process and accurately post invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Handle bank transactions, reconcile bank statements, and monitor cash flow.
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations and support the reconciliation of key control accounts and inter-company accounts.
  • Manage and track restricted and unrestricted funds and donations.
  • Record housing benefit, rent, and service charge receipts.
  • Provide data analysis support for the Housing division.
  • Assist with general finance administration and support Finance Managers with their finance needs.
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Assist with finance reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Support statutory audits and provide necessary documentation as required.
  • Assist the HR team and outsourced payroll provider with the preparation of monthly payroll.
  • Undertake other tasks and duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a finance or financial admin role.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Experience in the charity or housing sector is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Xero, Google Suite, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Recognised accounting qualification such as AAT or equivalent is desirable.
