We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join our dynamic team and contribute to the continued success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Route Planning: Develop and optimise transport schedules to maximise efficiency, minimise costs, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Fleet Coordination: Allocate vehicles and drivers, ensuring compliance with operational requirements and legal standards.
  • Communication: Act as the key point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders, providing clear instructions and resolving any operational issues promptly.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to transport legislation, including driver hours, tachograph regulations, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Problem Solving: Respond to challenges such as delays, breakdowns, and route changes, implementing effective solutions to maintain service levels.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and manage costs related to fuel, mileage, and maintenance, while seeking opportunities for savings.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of operations, producing reports to support business performance analysis and improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in transport planning within the haulage or logistics sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance standards.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Proficiency in transport planning software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A team player with a proactive and customer-focused attitude.
