Salary: £85 to £95 per day

TeacherActive is excited to be working with a fantastic Primary School in Grays to help them find a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Key Stage 1. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is compassionate, patient, and has experience supporting children with diverse learning needs.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide vital support to a child on a 1:1 basis, ensuring they can fully engage with the curriculum and make progress in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a Key Stage 1 pupil, assisting with their learning and development.
• Help the pupil access the curriculum and stay on task during lessons.
• Support the child with additional needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs).
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
• Assist with the pupil’s social and emotional development.
• Communicate regularly with the class teacher and other staff to monitor progress and adapt support strategies as needed.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Key Stage 1.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children.
• Experience supporting children with additional needs, including SEN.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
