About this role:
Experienced / ambitious Site Engineer required to work with the busy regional office of this leading Tier 1 main contractor based in Southampton, Hampshire.
Working with the Senior Engineer and the project teams on site, you will be responsible for providing support with all technical engineering aspects of projects throughout construction.
This support will involve checking of sub-contractor engineers setting out and work, Quality Assurance, coordination and inspection of Temporary Works, and proposing resolution to technical issues, raising TQs and liaising with the consulting engineers.
The scope of works for this main contractor include: schools and colleges, defence, sport and leisure, retirement living, blue light, student accommodation, etc.
Projects range in size from 5m up to 55m and include new build RC, steel, CLT and traditional buildings, plus also refurbishment to existing buildings and new build extensions, sometimes in live operational areas.
Reporting to the Construction Manager and working with the Senior Engineer, this role will cover projects in the Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual with an analytical approach who prefers the complex technical aspects of building rather than the management of people, required by the more a-typical site management route of progression.
About the company:
The contractor is the regional division of a large Tier 1 main contractor group, and has experience and a proven track record in the delivery of large new build schemes in the education, further education, leisure, defence and commercial building sectors.
Turnover is circa 70-80m for the region, with further growth predicted for next year.
This contractor has a very strong cash position, close relationship with supply chain partners and clients.
Requirement for the role:
You will be degree qualified and have 3-5years of experience of working as a Graduate to Site Engineer ideally with a Tier 1 or 2 main contractor.
High standards, attention to detail and excellent technical knowledge will be well rewarded with excellent salary, benefits, and the potential to work in the region on a range of interesting projects.
