Are you ready to lead a dynamic team and ensure quality tool care in a fast-paced engineering environment? As a Tool Room Team Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in managing and developing a skilled team, ensuring the effective use of resources, and driving operational excellence. This is your chance to take the reins, ensure the highest safety and performance standards, and push continuous improvement within the tool care department.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Health & Safety: Lead the team with a zero-accident mentality, ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage.
  • Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative team spirit, ensuring effective communication, development, and succession planning.
  • Tool Room Management: Organise and lead the tool room, planning for tool changes, maintenance, and repairs while ensuring adequate spare holdings for key assets.
  • Operational Excellence: Use problem-solving tools like Pareto analysis to identify areas for improvement, manage waste reduction, and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Hands-On Leadership: Play an active role in the team, ensuring the installation, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of multi-cavity hot runner mould tools.

What You'll Bring to the Role: Tool Room Team Leader

  • Engineering Aptitude: A strong background in mechanical, electrical, or precision engineering, ideally in tooling.
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Formal training or a willingness to progress in Health & Safety management skills (IOSH/NEBOSH).
  • Team Development: Experience in training, coaching, and developing a team to optimise performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with CI techniques and 5S principles is an advantage.
  • Problem Solving & Leadership: Strong skills in problem-solving and the ability to drive performance and manage incidents effectively.
