Maintenance Engineer

Location: North Walsham

Our client is a well respected engineering company based in North Walsham, specialising in the Animal Feed, Dry Pet Food and Flour Milling industries, seeks to reinforce its maintenance team.

The Role

They have a full time position available for a maintenance engineer role based in UK.  The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining machinery, as well as performing preventative maintenance and repairs as required on customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:-

  • Possess strong mechanical and electrical knowledge with the ability to maintain, repair and troubleshoot systems and equipment within feed / flour mills.
  • Interpret and work from schematics and technical drawings.
  • Operate welding equipment for repairs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues before the occur / escalate.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide timely maintenance support.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed and parts used.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to work at height
  • Proven experience of preventative maintenance procedures for mechanical handling machinery.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good appreciation of health & safety and commitment to regulations and method statements.
  • Willingness to travel (transport provided) and be comfortable with periods working away from home.
  • Undertaking breakdown call-outs / weekend working when required (UK coverage).
  • Full Clean UK driving licence
