North Yorkshire Council is seeking a Commercial Lawyer Solicitor to provide essential legal support within the Health and Adult Services team. This temporary role is a cover for the recruitment process and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic public sector environment with a focus on commercial law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on commercial contracts, public sector grant agreements, and public procurements.
- Support the Council’s project delivery initiatives.
- Work closely with internal teams to draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements. Ensure compliance with relevant legal frameworks and Council policies.
- Contribute to the Council’s legal strategy, delivering high-quality, practical legal solutions.
- Attend meetings and provide clear, concise legal advice to senior management and stakeholder
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with relevant certification.
- Experience & Skills: Demonstrable background in commercial law within a public sector environment.
- Proficient in handling commercial contracts, grant agreements, and public procurements.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
