Role: Conveyancing Assistant
Location: Northallerton
Salary: Up to £26,500 per annum
Type: Permanent, fully office based.
A highly regarded and well-established law firm are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Conveyancing Assistant to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will support the conveyancing department by assisting with the smooth processing of property transactions. This role is ideal for individuals who are organised, proactive, and possess a keen interest in property law.
Responsibilities
- Manage client matters efficiently using the case management system, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, organize, and archive legal files and supporting documents.
- Coordinate diary management, including scheduling client appointments and meetings.
- Draft client correspondence via audio typing, word processing, or digital dictation.
- Handle client and third-party calls and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Manage incoming emails, post, and general administrative tasks.
- Conduct property searches and client ID checks.
- Assist with property exchanges and completions under the Fee Earner’s guidance.
- Handle Land Registry tasks, including property registrations and follow-ups.
- Prepare client invoices and maintain account ledgers.
- Provide general support to the team and management as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience in a legal environment, particularly within conveyancing, is essential.
- Strong administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
