We are seeking a Site Technical Manager to ensure our food production meets the highest standards of safety, legality, and quality. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is crucial in maintaining our industry certifications and customer satisfaction.
Day-to-day of the role:- Oversee technical operations at the production site, driving quality standards to the highest level.
- Maintain BRC Grade A* certification and manage all customer technical approvals including major retailers like Tesco, M&S, Waitrose, Morrison’s, ASDA, and Cooperative.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and delight.
- Report and address any hygiene or safety issues to the Chief Operating Officer to ensure the production of safe food.
- Manage and update the Quality Manual and associated policies, procedures, and documentation to meet company objectives.
- Develop and implement policies to comply with EU and UK legislation.
- Train, motivate, and manage technical staff to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Develop and oversee HACCP systems and risk assessments to eliminate food safety risks.
- Handle customer complaints, aiming to reduce their frequency.
- Conduct supplier audits, manage technical budgets, and ensure all products meet customer specifications and trading standards.
- Proven experience in a technical management role within the food production industry.
- Strong knowledge of BRC standards, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage with major retail customers.
- Ability to lead and develop a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a technical budget.
- Experience in conducting supplier audits and handling customer complaints effectively.
