Role Overview:

This Food Technology Teacher/Catering Instructor role involves teaching and supporting students who have experienced significant periods of disengagement and/or disaffection in their education, which may have negatively impacted their achievement and motivation. The school focuses on providing quality education for children with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Key Responsibilities:

* Part-time Teacher - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

* Be a positive and resilient role model, willing to overcome challenges to positively impact students' education and wellbeing.

* Work with pupils aged 13-16, some of whom have specific Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP).

* Deliver tailored, personalized learning routes across KS3 and KS4 to students with varied abilities.

* Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to support students' learning, behaviour, and emotional well-being.

* Provide practical support for learning, educational activities, social skills development, and integration.

Requirements:

* Experience working in an educational setting.

* Previous experience with vulnerable students, particularly those with SEMH, is preferred but not essential.

* Proven track record of reintegration to mainstream education or supporting pupil retention.

* Resilience and the ability to overcome challenging behaviours to ensure each pupil achieves their best.

* A sense of humour and the ability to form relationships quickly.
