NEW ROLE - Assistant Financial Controller

The Accountancy & Finance Division at The ONE Group is excited to be working for a reputable and growing PE Backed Business based in Northampton. This is a newly created role due to growth! Reporting directly into the Group Financial Controller, you will be overseeing transactional finance functions, ensuring accurate processing of transactions, invoices, and compliance reporting. This role provides leadership to teams across Revenue Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Capital Accounting, driving efficiency, automation, and process improvements.

As the Assistant Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee transactional finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payment charges and capital invoices.
  • Lead and develop senior finance professionals across Revenue Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Capital Accounting.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Drive process automation and standardisation across invoice and payment workflows.
  • Deliver compliance reports on a quarterly basis.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Take accountability for month-end closure, external audits, and financial reporting processes.

As the Assistant Financial Controller, you must demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) with 3-4 years post-qualification experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing finance teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement and automation.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and ability to manage large datasets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
