Company Accountant - Northampton (Hybrid) - Exclusive Opportunity

We are delighted to be working exclusively with our Northampton client, to recruit a Company Accountant. This is a stand-alone finance role, offering hybrid working and the opportunity to play a key part in the company's financial operations.

The Role

As the Company Accountant, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all financial processes. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and processing both the sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring accurate transaction processing and resolving any issues.
  • Credit control and debtor analysis, ensuring timely payments and managing outstanding balances.
  • Bank reconciliations, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Cashflow management, providing oversight and forecasting.
  • Preparing management accounts, delivering insightful financial reporting.
  • Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Collating payroll information for submission to the outsourced payroll provider.
  • Supporting the business with financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Year-end processes, working closely with external accountants as required.

The Candidate

This role is ideal for an experienced Company Accountant, Finance Manager, or Senior Bookkeeper who thrives in an autonomous position. The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong experience in end-to-end finance processes.
  • Confidence in preparing management accounts and VAT returns.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • A proactive and organised approach to workload management.

Remuneration

  • Salary - £45,000 - c£48,000 depending on experience
  • 8.30 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Friday - Hybrid working
  • 25 days holiday plus statutory days
  • On-site parking
