They manage various divisions and provide comprehensive financial and operational support to ensure efficient and eco-friendly practices across their operations.Your new roleDue to internal changes, they are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their Head Office finance team in Northampton. Responsibilities will include:
- Prepare weekly and management accounts, including KPIs and supporting information.
- Conduct variance analysis of weekly accounts versus monthly accounts and budgets.
- Complete bank reconciliations.
- Perform monthly payroll analysis, including journal entries.
- Calculate and schedule accruals and prepayments.
- Report on capital expenditure and controlling fixed assets for all divisions.
- Calculate month-end rebates and fresh discount accruals, ensuring accuracy and approving supplier invoices.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances as needed.
- Support the finance team in preparing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Attend internal audits at sites to maintain and strengthen controls.
- Assist with ABP internal and year-end external audits and auditors.
- Produce supporting information for monthly taxation computations.
- Report on weekly cash flow.
What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will possess extensive balance sheet experience and will be tasked with controlling the primary risk areas of balance sheets across all divisions. This includes managing fixed assets, accrued income, stocks, maintenance, and rebate accruals. They will be newly qualified with an ACA or ACCA certificate or highly qualified by experience. They should have strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder management, a can-do attitude, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. The candidate must be capable of working independently as well as collaborating with the team on larger projects. They should be able to meet deadlines and manage their own priorities efficiently. Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are crucial.
