We are delighted to work exclusively with our Northampton-based client to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This opportunity arises as the current Financial Controller, who has been a valued team member for 15 years, plans to retire in April 2025.

This role reports directly to the Managing Director and offers a great opportunity to contribute to an established business. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the company's financial direction, and you will work closely with a dedicated and energetic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analysing trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Process monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Manage VAT submissions and statutory returns, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Oversee the budgeting process.
  • Provide forecasts and financial insights to support management decisions.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to meet operational needs and strategic goals.
  • Implement cost controls and work with project teams to keep projects within budget.
  • Communicate financial information clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop a small finance team, supporting their growth and performance.
  • Contribute to strategic planning through financial analysis.
  • Oversee IT systems, ensuring they support business needs effectively and remain secure and up-to-date.
  • Manage HR-related tasks, including overseeing staff records, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.

Remuneration

  • Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience
