Your new roleDue to growth and internal changes, they are looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to take responsibility for overseeing the finance department and reporting to the Finance Director, ensuring all financial and accounting activities are managed effectively. Key responsibilities include:
- Business Strategy: Provide financial input for business strategy.
- Financial Control: Develop and document processes and policies to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reports and provide analysis for the board.
- Forecasts/Budget: Help prepare monthly forecasts and budget assumptions, and coordinate budget inputs.
- IT: Work with IT to optimise systems, improve efficiency, and reduce risk.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax and statutory reporting requirements.
- Cash Management: Improve procedures to optimise working capital and ensure accurate cash flow forecasting.
- People Management: Lead and motivate the finance team, focusing on personal development and continuous improvement.
What you'll need to succeedWe are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, CA, CIMA, ACCA) with 3-4 years of commercial experience in the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A focus on compliance and controls is essential, along with proficiency in accounting software and familiarity with standard costing.
